8/29-8/28: Breaking News!!! It's a Plastic Water Bottle Tie: Porter 3-Tilden 3!!!

During your scribbler's near-daily ca. 70-mins. regular mid-morning stroll/jog in the Imperial Capital's Cleveland Park area, a walk/run in part intended to pick up trash, including used plastic water bottles (PWBs) for placement in his neighborhood's waste receptacles,

he noticed that, for the first time since he began his PWBs elimination excursions a few months ago, two of the streets where he stretches his 71-year-old legs -- Tilden and Porter -- had the same number of PWBs strewn upon them by honorable citizens (via a window of their automobiles?) who can't be bothered, in their ceaseless hurry/fury (to nowhere?), with preserving our fragile environment.

The above pix notwithstanding, this PWBs no-winner between two important streets in yours truly's neck of the woods is an event of historic proportions in the regrettable narrative -- granted ignored to DC's those-in-power -- of the plastic water bottle pollution in the Imperial Capital.

Other 8/29 PWBs pick-ups: in Rock Creek Park (one unopened full bottle, in picnic area no. 1); and on Connecticut Avenue and a nearby street (two).

All the discovered bottles had commonplace labels in DC (e.g., "Deer Park") -- except for one Tilden PWB, all crumpled up and decapitated, which had no identity left on it and reminded your blogger of his own condition. :)

8/28 Footnote

Synonyms for unspectacular

On 8/28 -- a day of unspectacular PWBs collection that will probably not live in infamy but provides more evidence that plastic pollution has become commonplace in the Imperial Capital -- two such bottles were found on Porter, and one on Tilden, during your blogger's near-daily DC peregrination ("trash the trash while joggin'") in his neighborhood.
