A Facebook speculation (slightly edited) re the "lovin'" Trump-Putin relationship:
'Em in-power russkies (like 'em or not, they're no dummies) wanted/"figured" that Trump would be in their interest/their winning "deal" as U.S. president.
Why? Because of:
--his ignorance about the outside world;
--his disorganized, "wherever, whenever" mind;
--his total lack of interest in elementary facts/data/reports, including, I speculate, economic ones, as when he participated in organizing a Miss Universe show in Russia and planning to construct a Moscow Trump Tower, not exactly a success of Trump-bizness know-how.

How about because this obsessive "I love who I am," not-quite-of WASP German ancestry (1) Twitterer in Chief, as amerikanskii president, would be an ideal "Manchurian candidate," from the perspective of the equally paranoid, politically fragile (not so agile), commanding stratum in Mother Russia?
To underscore my point, Putin and his sinister ministers/realpolitik entourage -- no "democratic angels," but perhaps not all of them total idiots (some had lived in NYC and elsewhere in the U.S.) -- came to the conclusion, after dealing with him, that Trump -- stemming from his parochial, ambitious, arriviste middle class ethnic insecurities, due to his vulgar American Queens, NYC huckster's dog-eat-dog ignorance/lack of tact/facts/absence of experience in international realities (despite Don's claims that he's a superman in the "art of the deal") -- would be the most incompetent USA commander in chief of all times.
Thus, the Kremlin/oligarchs' and their flunkies "figured" that this is a guy who's quite like us, who'll play our game -- "odin iz nashikh" [one of ours; "our guy"]).
In simple terms, he's a sleazeball, like we are (but we've got Russian class, he doesn't), so we understand him, and he (not quite) understands us, because he's lower-class American.
In other words, from a Putin's Kremlin/Russian oligarch perspective, TRUMP would be the perfect bouncer to dump/strangle American democracy/national interests under Russian direction/finance.
Think of the bouncer in a classic Hollywood film noir movie (I speculate: Russians of a certain age/education judge America by its films, even if they to go to ancient times [40s/50s]). As for the younger Russian generation, I'm completely not so sure).
The Russians in the aged Putin entourage figured, thinking of the bouncer: Granted, Trump's not that bright, but he's a pretty big guy, married Slavic women, so we can use him to, with Russian bribes/blat [connections] in exchange for a "deal" against "The West" (the Russian homeland's enemy no.1, according to nostalgic Stalinists and extreme Russian nationalists) to:
--push for US withdrawal from NATO;
--intensify the U.S. economic conflict with China;
--keep US troops out of Russia's ally Syria and (in Afghanistan) away from a border with Russia (especially important for an understandably paranoid "Russian mentality" of being historically invaded across their Euro-Asian configuration's ill-defined borders);
--and, the Putin mafia's greatest hope, lead to an American economic downturn/crisis, contributing to a loss of U.S. international "leadership" and the end of sanctions against Russia (i.e, the Kremlin/oligarchs making it much easier for them to control/steal from the long-suffering Russian economy, due in part with foreign money);
--The Putin mafia prays (to whom, except themselves, and for the sake of their own dollar-making benefit) for international economic organizations seeking profits (i.e, which means more hard currency for them, Putin and his pals) by exploiting (developing would be too strong a word) Russia's dire economic status by selling its relatively cheap natural/agricultural resources overseas.
Some, in ancient pre-21st century times, would call such ruthless profit-seeking the exploitation of the proletariat by the capitalists. ...

Final question, to which I don't have a reliable answer: Do the KGB guys&dolls have something concrete that can blackmail MAGA Don?
