Map of Cleveland Park, in NW quadrant of Washington, DC
9/8
Number of plastic water bottles PWBs (total seven or six) found/picked up by your blogger during his near-daily ca. 70 mins stroll/jog in his Cleveland Park neighborhood; trash is disposed of in Cleveland Park public waste receptacles
--One PWB: In Rock Creek Park picnic area no. 1, right next to an overfilled trash can with, not far away, laughing, cheerful picnickers and their kids, enjoying the "clean" environment
--Three (or was it two, PWBs; yours truly's memory fails him): On Porter Street, his designated Cleveland Park Kingdom of Plastic Water Bottle Trash; one Porter PWB had lost its identity, i.e., had no label left on it.
--Three on Connecticut Avenue, which is being renovated and currently bombarded by an unusually high number of PWBs, perhaps because the dedicated workmen fixing this major DC artery, understandably longing for a gulp of water on a hot day, need H20 to get through the job -- and don't have time to worry about where to dispose of empty plastic water bottles from an "ecological perspective."

See an article that is wildly optimistic (in my modest opinion) about the recent scooter infestation of DC public spaces, "DC Scooter Cruisin’ on a ride through Rock Creek Park"; on scooters and the environment, see (2010 article)
